On March 23, 2023, a group of 25 foreign students had the opportunity to participate in an enriching activity with elementary school students from a school located in the Kogui indigenous community. During the activity, cultural exchange and recreation were encouraged, promoting respect for different cultures and their respective traditions.

In addition, during the activity, the students were able to learn basic vocabulary in Spanish and English, thanks to their guide Edwin Rey and the school’s teachers. The Turcol team was proud to be part of this type of event, as it generates significant benefits for both visitors and local communities.

It is important to highlight the importance of this type of activities, as they not only promote cultural exchange and language learning, but also foster respect and understanding of other cultures and ways of life. We hope that these types of initiatives will continue to be promoted and supported in the future, as they are key to fostering a more inclusive and diverse world.

On the other hand, cultural exchange is a unique experience for those who have the opportunity to participate in it. The foreign students, in particular, were able to learn first-hand about the culture and traditions of the Kogui indigenous community, which allowed them to broaden their perspective and understanding of the world.

In addition, these activities also have a positive impact on local communities, as it gives them the opportunity to share their customs and traditions with visitors from other countries, which in turn helps to preserve and disseminate their culture. In this sense, cultural exchange is a powerful tool to promote respect and cultural diversity, as well as to foster sustainable and responsible tourism.

In summary, the activity in which the foreign students participated in the school of the Kogui indigenous community was an enriching experience for both them and the local students. This initiative promoted cultural exchange, language learning and respect for different cultures and their respective traditions. We hope that these types of activities will continue to be supported and promoted in the future, as they are key to fostering a more inclusive and diverse world.
